Norwalk FD responded to a MVA on I-95 north bound at exit 13 off ramp. The car hit a tree and the driver was trapped in the vehicle. FD extricated the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other passengers in the car.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a fire at 261 Ely Ave. (Roodner Court) building 14. Norwalk combined dispatch received a call of a possible structure fire on the third floor at 1:33 this morning. This is a three story apartment building with 18 units in the building.

Norwalk Firefighters responded to a fire in a condominium complex at 100 SanVincenzo Pl. This complex was built in 1992 and is comprised of 58 living units. Norwalk combined dispatch received a call of a fire in unit 34 at 12:21 this afternoon.

Norwalk Firefighters responded to a fire in a two family house at 19 Lawrence St. Norwalk combined dispatch received a call of a possible structure fire at 2:00 this afternoon. The Meadow Street fire unit were first to arrive, and were on the scene in less than one minute.

Norwalk Fire responded to a house fire with a man trapped on the second floor at 26 Leuvine st. at 5:56 pm. Fire fighters quickly raised a ladder to the trapped man and brought him down. The man was uninjured but did have some smoke inhalation. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and released.

Norwalk Fire responded to a reported house fire at # 8 Ridge st. Upon arrival crews were met with heavy fire showing from the second floor apartment. All occupants escaped with no injuries. The fire started in the kitchen and dining area on the second floor. The fire is still under investigation, but appears to be from a discarded cigarette.

Tonight at 2013 hrs Norwalk Fire and Police Departments rescued a deer that was hung up on a fence. The deer apparently tried to jump over the fence and caught its back leg on the top of the fence.
We wrapped the deer up in a blanket so it could not see and then we lifted it up and over. As soon as it hit the ground it ran off into the woods.

This afternoon at 2:55 pm the Norwalk Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 35 Glasser St. Upon arrival the first company found flames coming out of a first floor window on the left side of a duplex.
