The Norwalk Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 14 Prowitt St. at 8:17pm. Tonight.  A neighbor reported smoke coming from the apartment.

 Upon arrival, firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, searched the apartment, and ventilated the building.

One civilian death was reported. 3 Engines, 2 Trucks, a Rescue and Command Car responded, with 25 Firefighters. The fire was reported under control at 8:30pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
