The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a report of a man struck by a train at the Catherine Street Railroad Crossing. The accident happened around 12:48am, Saturday morning. The man was found lying alongside the tracks with serious injuries to his right arm and right leg. He was semi-conscious when firefighters and paramedics placed him into the ambulance for transport to Norwalk Hospital.
Metro North Police are investigating the incident.

At 4:28 am, Firefighters responded to a report of a car off the Merritt Parkway into the Norwalk River. When Firefighters arrived with Hospital Paramedics and State Police the car, a Hyundai Sedan was found on its side, in a foot of water, between the Parkway exit 40A ramp and the 1 Glover Avenue Condos. The car appears to have left the southbound exit ramp to Main Avenue and traveled 60’ to the river below.
The driver, a woman in her 20’s walked up to Firefighters and said she was the only one in the car. She was transported to Norwalk Hospital, as State Police made arrangements to remove the car from the river.
