June 13,2015, 2015

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 8 Lighthouse Lane, at 10:30pm. Friday evening. Upon arrival Firefighters found the entire left side of the home engulfed in fire and flames extending into the attic space. Although the bulk of the fire was extinguished within the first 10 minutes, Firefighters continued to check for fire extension into voids for an hour to ensure complete extinguishment, due to the intensity of the blaze.

There were 3 adult occupants and a dog home at the time of the fire and all escaped prior to the Fire Department arriving on scene, They occupants also managed to call 911. They made arrangements to stay with relatives, as the home was posted unfit for occupancy.

3 Engines, 2 Trucks a rescue and Command Car brought  25 Firefighters to the scene. Deputy Fire Marshal Broderick Sawyer is investigating the cause of the fire.
