The Norwalk Fire Department responded to barn fire at 44 Fox Run Road this afternoon at 3:27pm. The 2 story barn, 50’ x 80’ housed a work shop and 2 jeeps along with various tools, and storage. There were also 6 boats stored for the winter and a couple vehicles near the barn that sustained varying amounts of damage from the intense radiant heat.
30 Norwalk Firefighters responded to the blaze as Westport, New Canaan and Rowayton engines covered the vacant Norwalk Fire Houses. The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes and crews worked for over an hour to fully extinguish hot spots.
Norwalk Police blocked Fox Run Road between Ponus Avenue and Devonshire Road for a couple hours as fire crews worked the scene. Fire inspector Kirk McDonald from the Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
