At 2110 hours this evening, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple calls for a residential garage on fire at 21 Nelson Avenue. Engine 4 first on scene reported heavy smoke and fire on the A/B sides of the garage. This is a one car detached garage approximately 6 feet from the main house. Engine 4 stretched a 1 and ¾ inch handline and quickly extinguished the fire. The fire is under investigation by the fire marshal’s office. After the fire was out an occupant of the house requested to be evaluated by Norwalk Hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported. 3 engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 rescue truck and 1 command car were on scene.
