Norwalk Fire responded to a house fire with a man trapped on the second floor at 26 Leuvine st. at 5:56 pm. Fire fighters quickly raised a ladder to the trapped man and brought him down. The man was uninjured, but did have some smoke inhalation. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and released. The home was posted unfit for occupancy and three occupants were being housed by the Red Cross.
The fire started in the kitchen dining area. The fire damage was contained to the first floor with smoke damage on the second floor. There were no other injuries and the fire was brought under control in 20 min.
The FD responded with 3 engines and 2 ladder trucks.
