This afternoon at 2:55 pm the Norwalk Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 35 Glasser St. Upon arrival the first company found flames coming out of a first floor window on the left side of a duplex. A line was stretched and the fire was quickly knocked down, at which time firefighters checked the other areas of the house to ensure the fire did not spread. At the time of the fire the occupant was out and only a dog was inside. A firefighter found the dog which was hiding under a bed on the second floor. The dog and the owner were reunited and the dog was taken to the vet to be checked out. The dwelling of the two family house were the fire was is posted unfit. The Red Cross was called to assist the family of five in locating a place to stay. No injuries were reported
24 firefighters responded with 3 Engines, 2 Trucks, a Rescue and Command Car. The last fire apparatus cleared the scene at 4:00 pm. Fire Inspector Luca Feola is investigating the cause of the fire.
