PC Richards - Structure Fire- August 5, 2011

The Norwalk Fire Dept. responded to a pair of structure fires today. The first fire occurred at PC Richards, 444 Conn. Ave. at 1117 hours.
The fire was located in the warehouse. Smoke was showing from the warehouse exterior door. While firefighters entered the building to locate the fire, the store portion was being evacuated. The fire was quickly brought under control and is being investigated by Fire Inspector Broderick Sawyer. The fire was confined to an oven and some cardboard boxes. Fire personnel remained on scene to ventilate the warehouse. The second fire occurred at 55 Soundview Ave. It was reported to be an attic fire. Upon arrival smoke was showing from a second floor window. Firefighters advanced a hose line to the second floor to extinguish the fire and check for any extension. The occupant was outside waiting our arrival. One firefighter was transported to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. The fire is being investigated by Fire Inspector Broderick Sawyer.
