The Norwalk Fire Department promoted three Firefighters to Lieutenant and a Captain to Deputy Chief of Training on the afternoon of July 1, 2011, with Chief Denis McCarthy and Mayor Richard Moccia issuing their oath of service, at Norwalk Fire Headquarters.

The four newly appointed Officers will fill the vacancies left by recent retirees or promotions in their respected ranks. Recently retired were Deputy Chief David Lepus (32 years of service), Lieutenant Mario Bologna (32 years of service), Lieutenant Antonio Ortiz (29 years of service) and Firefighter Stanley Huminski with 29 years of service.

The newly promoted officers are Deputy Chief Todd Smith, Lieutenants, Fortunato Capomolla, Roy Gagne, and Mark Conte.
