Norwalk Firefighters Battle Multiple Alarm Apartment Building Fire

At 04:45 on August 13, 2010, E4, E2, T2, T1, R2 and C2 were dispatched to 45 Wall Street in the city for a report of a structure fire. A second alarm was struck by Car 2 while enroute and the remainder of NFD companies were called to the scene in minutes after arrival of first due companies. Initial information included multiple calls from within the building and PD reports of a working fire and residents trapped and jumping. Companies worked through the morning and the fire was brought under control by 08:00. Mutual aid was received by Westport, Wilton, New Canaan, Fairfield, Stamford and Rowayton Fire Departments. It was a total team effort between all the involved fire, police and EMS personnel.
